These terms govern your use of the TagThatPet.com website at TagThatPet.com ("the site"). By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, do not use the site.

1. Informational use only

TagThatPet.com provides a free generator for QR pet tag codes: the contact information you enter is encoded inside the code itself and drawn in your own browser. The codes are provided for general informational and pet-identification purposes; a QR tag is a recovery aid, not a tracking device, and no guarantee of a lost pet's return is made or implied. Whether a printed or encased code scans in the physical world depends on factors outside this site's control — print scale, materials, wear, lighting, and the scanning device — which is why the site verifies codes digitally before download and documents its physical sizing guidance. Test every physical tag by scanning it before relying on it.

2. No guarantee of suitability

We work to keep the tools accurate — the encoding and sizing engine is covered by automated tests that decode rendered codes back byte-for-byte, and its geometry is documented (see the methodology page) — but the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for independently verifying any physical code by scanning it before attaching it to a collar or relying on it.

3. Your responsibilities

You agree to use the site lawfully and not to:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the site, its hosting, or its security;
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content by automated means in a manner that burdens the service;
  • Misrepresent codes produced on TagThatPet.com as guaranteeing a pet's recovery or as a tracking service;
  • Use the site to develop or distribute malware or to conduct fraudulent activity.

4. Intellectual property

The site's content — including text, explanations, worked examples, design, and code — is owned by the site operator and protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use the tools and quote brief excerpts with attribution; you may not republish substantial portions of the site or its content as your own.

5. Third-party services and advertising

The site may display third-party advertising (such as Google AdSense) and may link to third-party sites. Those services and sites are governed by their own terms and policies; TagThatPet.com is not responsible for their content or practices. The presence of an advertisement is not an endorsement.

6. Availability and modification

We may add, change, suspend, or remove tools or content at any time, and may modify these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or business, arising from or related to your use of the site or reliance on any code it produces, including the loss of an animal. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the site operator’s principal place of business, and disputes are subject to the courts competent for that place, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country or state of residence provides otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited by agreement.
